Dave's "Torino 500 Halo" was only made for 3 months in 1971. Came in only three unique colors, Peppermint, Pewter or Ginger ( like Dave's). Dave's also has the special GT interior with yellow accents. Only 14,587 Ginger Halos were built. Look for the 65C production model code to identify. This was Dave's and his wife's first car!
George and Joann's 1964 GTO has been in their family since 1975. Their GTO is Grenadier Red has the 389 engine with the tri-power carburetors originally matched to the four speed manual transmission. Several years ago George switched out the manual transmission for the automatic it has today.
Grandparents purchased this car new in Massachusetts and I restored it. At the annual Bull Run car show in September, 1999, my car received the 24th Annual Edgar Rohr Memorial Award. This car was also the subject of The Washington Times Out of the Past November 12, 1999 article
We have owned the car since 1973. We went on our honeymoon in this car. The restoration on the car was started in 1989 and completed in 1996.
